Serpent

One of the earliest mythical creatures is the serpent or snake. Both Eastern and Western civilizations gave rise to it. Wisdom, protection, rebirth, fertility, healing, rejuvenation, and primordial energy are just a few of the things that serpents represent. Seeing or having a dream about a snake is a sign of rebirth and rejuvenation, just as snakes lose their skin; they also represent the nourishing ground. However, snakes have a negative connotation in many cultures, frequently representing evil, devastation, and seduction.
