Malachite
Since malachite was Venus' metal, the ancient devotees of the goddess gave the stone special abilities. The term "mallow," a green plant, is derived from the Greek. Its distinctive decorative qualities set it apart from other stones thanks to its banded light and dark green patterns. As early as 3000 B.C., Malachite was recognized in Egypt. The ancient Greeks and Romans also loved using it for eye makeup in powder form as well as for jewelry and decorations. Malachite was regarded in the Middle Ages as a remedy for different stomach ailments and a shield against the evil eye.
